         The Bryansk State Agricultural Academy is an educational, research and production complex.

   Teaching, educational and scientific activities are carried out on the basis of the following departments: Agroecological Institute, the Faculty of Veterinary Medicine and Biotechnology, the Engineering Technological Faculty, the Faculty of Energetics and Land Reclamation, the Economics Faculty, the Correspondence Faculty; and also the Department of Postgraduate and Doctoral study, Scientific Library, the Kokino base of the All-Russian Horticulture Selection Institute, the Center of Information Technologies, the Scientific and Teaching Center of Biotechnology, the Meteorology Station; with the help of Dean's offices, Office of the head of studies, Department dealing with Practice and Employment Assistance, Personnel Department, Accounts Department, Economy and Legal Service; Cultural and Educational Centre, Museum of Academy’s history, Editorial and Publishing Department , Press Centre.

Agroecological Institute

   The Agroecological Institute has competent pedagogical and scientific staff. Among them there are 4 Honored Scientists of the Russian Federation: Kazakov I.V., Lihachyov B.S., Maltsev V.F, Prosjannikov E.V., 1 Honored Worker of the Higher School of the Russian Federation - Ajtzhanova S.D., 2 Honored Workers of Agriculture of the Russian Federation - Belous N.M., Torikov V. E, 3 Honorary Workers of the Highest Vocational Education of the Russian Federation.

    The Agroecological Institute offers the following specialties: Agronomy, Agroecology, Production technology and processing of agricultural products.

   Recently meeting the present demands the following specializations have been introduced: Landscaping, Agroecological estimate of soils, Information-consulting service in agriculture; Agribusiness, Certification of agricultural objects and plant growing products. Radioecology.

   The staff of the Agroecological Institute consists of 15 Doctors of Sciences, Professors, 40 Candidates of Sciences, Associate Professors and Senior Lecturers and 10 Assistant Lecturers, and also support personnel.

   There are 8 departments: Department of Ecological Plant Cultivation; Department of Fruit and Vegetable Cultivation; Department of General Farming; Botany Department, Department of Plant Physiology and Microbiology; Soil Science Department, Department of Agrochemistry and Agroradiology; Ecology and Plant Protection Department; Forage Production Department, Department of Selection and Seed-growing; Chemistry Department.

   Most of researches carried out at the Institute are aimed at development of methods of farming in conditions of radioactive contamination. Much attention is given to development of technologies of agriculture biologization, of immunity raise of crops.

Engineering Technological Faculty

     The Engineering-technological faculty carries out fundamental and engineering training allowing graduates to work at various factories, reprocessors, trunk telephone stations, etc.

    The Faculty offers the following specialties and specializations: Farm Mechanization (Agricultural machinery exploitation; Fuel-supply complexes and petroleum store), Safety of technological processes and production, Mechanization of processing of agricultural products (Mechanization of processing of plant growing products, Mechanization of processing of animal husbandry products), Technology of maintenance of agricultural machines (Organization and technology of engineering service; Material logistics of agroindustrial complex).

    Besides students of the Faculty study traffic rules, tractor-, harvester- and car-driving with receiving the corresponding certificates, licenses.

    Practical work is done at the largest engineering plants of the country, on the leading  farms of the region.

    At the Faculty there is a creative staff of competent teachers, most of which having scientific degrees of Candidate and Doctor of Sciences.

   Most of the researches carried out at the Faculty deal with development of methods of reliability and durability improvement of agricultural machines, reduction of power inputs in their exploitation, development of models of new machines.

Energetics and Land Reclamation

   The faculty is formed in 2006 on the basis of the Engineering Faculty. It offers the following Specialties and specializations: Electrification and automation of farming (Electrification of technological processes; Electric-power supply of farming), Machinery and the equipment of land reclamation and environment protection, Engineering systems of water supply, irrigation and drainage in farming, Melioration, recultivation and soil conservation (Control of land resources, Melioration and organization of land use, Melioration, and cadastre, land law, Land measuring in construction)

   Scientists of the Faculty are carried out researches concerning rehabilitations of water installations in a countryside by engineering means in a radioactive contamination zone, and also labour protection and life safety of rural population.

Faculty of Veterinary Medicine and Biotechnology

  The Faculty of Veterinary Medicine and Biotechnology trains specialists of following specializations: Veterinary science, Zootechnics (Horse breeding; Marketing and slaughtering of animal husbandry).

  At the Faculty there are 7 departments, including Department of Therapy, Surgery, Veterinary Obstetrics and Pharmacology; Department of Epizootology, Microbiology, Parasitology and Veterinary Sanitary Examination.

  The Faculty has perfect training base of 9200 м².

  Lectures and seminars are given in the buildings on the territory of academic park zone. A stable and a horse-racing school with 36 horses of various breeds are the disposal of students of the Faculty. 

  Laboratory and practical training are held in a vivarium and on farms of an experimental farm of the Academy keeping cattle, sheep, pigs and laboratory animals: rabbits and poultry.

  Students do their educational and industrial practice on the best farms of the Bryansk region, and also in veterinary laboratories of Bryansk and its regional centres, veterinary clinics.

  At the Faculty theoretical and practical training of students is carried out by the qualified teaching staff including 9 Doctors of Science 32 Candidates of Science.

  The main scientific research directions of the Faculty are study of technology of ecologically safe animal production and raising immunity of animals.

Economics Faculty

  The Economics Faculty is the largest one at the Academy taking in consideration the number of students trained. There are more than 1000 students getting one of the following specialties: Economy and Management of an Enterprise, Accounting and Audit, Marketing, Organization Management, Commerce, Applied Informatics (in Economy)

  Students of the Faculty study disciplines of a humanitarian and social cycle: Philosophy, Foreign Languages, History, Law, Sociology and Political Science. Much attention is given to such disciplines as Higher Mathematics, Computer Techniques, Ecology, Business Economy, Accounting, Audit, Management, Marketing, Commerce, Finance, Statistics, Computer Systems, Databases, Information Technologies and others.

  At students’ disposal there is a Centre of Information Technologies with access to the Internet, libraries, a reading room, hostels, sports halls and stadium.

  Students also receive additional professions, such as a user of a personal computer, a qualified driver, "1С" user with the corresponding certificates and licenses.

  Scientists of the Faculty study mechanism of formation of farm market grouping, intensification of integration processes in the system of agroindustrial production; also develop the concept of economic development, organizational models and control systems of the agroindustrial complex in conditions of market economy.

Correspondence Faculty

  Students of the Correspondence Faculty have an opportunity to combine their work with study and improving their professional skills.

  The Faculty offers the following specialties: Agronomy, Zootechnics, Veterinary science, Farm Mechanization, Machinery and the equipment of land reclamation and environment protection, Electrification and automation of farming, Mechanization of processing of agricultural products, Technology of maintenance of agricultural machines, Economy and management of an enterprise, Accounting and audit, Economy and Management of agricultural production, Organization management, with complete (for 6 years) or reduced training term of study (for 4 years). , with complete (for 6 years) or reduced training term of study (for 4 years).

  The Faculty has already trained about 4 thousand highly qualified specialists. Now they work as director, managers, specialists of Agricultural Departments, leaging agricultural enterprises, farms, poultry factories and cattle-breeding complexes, and also as specialists of various establishments of agrarian and industrial complex.
